By the way, my computer right now is VERY slow. but i would still like to have as many up to date programs if possible... thanks in advanced
I cant get ram for my computer though. i need a DDR ram card, and all i can find are DDR2 ram cards
inconsequential dude replied: "you already have it XP
the reason it is so is that you don't have sufficient amount of ram.
upgrade to 512 and you will notice the difference."
eet_spam replied: "Um.. Ubuntu, maybe. Maybe even Puppy dog Linux. You need a new computer!"
Beeker replied: "Ok well the first thing I saw was "Quantum Fireball" which means you need a new computer. That is OLD. Seriously. A new computer is not that expensive. Save up some cash and just get one."
ΞÅĢαѓєїα replied: "The reason your computer is very slow is because your processor is outdated at a speed of 901Mhz or .9Ghz. Most computers today run with dual or quad cores of 2GHz and above... (aka. 2.6Ghz quad core would equal out to 10.2Ghz of potential processing power)"
c2_91 replied: "xp is the best out there right now"
Derek B replied: "For what you want, You will need a new computer. Your specs just can't run a lot of up to date programs.
However, the best Released yet would be Windows XP. It doesn't matter which version. XP is not a resource hog (which Vista is incredibly, quite sickening) and it's simple to repair.
You may want to expand your hard drive space to at least 80 GB. Expand your RAM to preferably at least 1 gig. For WoW I use 4 GB of RAM. Your Processor should also be about at least 3.0 Ghz. Remember, for optimum efficiency, you will want as much RAM and as high a processor as you can get. The more space you have will also help.
Computer Care on the other hand, You will also want to run Regular Good Anti-virus scans. Preferably a daily basis but no more infrequent than weekly. Also run a Defragment as often as your computer starts to slow. You can find this in Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Defragmenter
Hope this helps
EDIT: In Response to your Edit. That is why I said you need a new computer. Your computer is far too updated. You simply have to save up to get another one. Sorry but there are no other options."

Short answer: No way it would never run, or at best be a horrible experience.
Long answer.
Your PC has a very old Integrated graphics chip.
Display
Video Adapter Intel(R) 82815 Graphics Controller (Microsoft Corporation) (32 MB) 3D Accelerator Intel i752
It will not support any game 10 years or newer sorry.
WoW requires at least a 64 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware Transform and Lighting, such as NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX 5700 class card or above. The problem is Integrated graphics cards almost never support the advanced features of most video games. They are more for video viewing (not creating) or background action.
The rest of your PC should have enough Hard-drive space and your CPU is ok also. Other than your old Graphics card you should be ok."

it is only compatible with 512 MB of ram, I want that upgraded which will need a new MB. will any of my component be compatible with this replacement motherboard
any help is much needed i could either upgrade this system i am using right now or just buy a new case and start from there. i want it to be under 300. i just need some ram cause i like to play WoW and i cant on this one that only supports 512. so i need to upgrade basically.
Jeeper replied: "It would cost more to upgrade this than to just buy a decent PC. I wouldn't waste your time."
Nayeem H replied: "ugh no this computer wont do any good for gaming and upgrading wont affect much you'll be better off buying a gaming PC"
What should I upgrade on my PC? My computer has been fairly slow, and is also quite a few years old (5 or 6 years I think.) I am thinking about upgrading the RAM. What else would improve performance and what should I get?

lca1262 replied: "Additional RAM will give you the most performance upgrade and best bang-for-the-buck.
You could consider getting a new hard drive perhaps one that spins at 10K RPM or a solid state drive.
But you should seriously get at least a gig of ram."
Harry replied: "Upgrading your RAM is a good idea. Make sure to get a good amount, like 2 GB. That should help a lot."
haV0k x64 replied: "Your PC is really old, upgrading it will cost you a lot more than buying a new PC so I recommend buying a new computer as it does not cost too much anymore (around 500-800 for a good one). You can upgrade the memory (RAM) on this computer but don't expect too much and your looking at DDR modules which aren't made anymore so you will have to pay a lot. The processor is outdated and so is the motherboard. If you upgrade the graphics card you'll be looking at getting an AGP card which is obsolete and pretty expensive. Go ahead and get a new computer."
truetejas replied: "After 5 or 6 years any XP installation will run slowly. It builds up a lot of unnecessary crud from old programs, updates, and downloads that slow it down.
While I agree that the best thing you can do is add more RAM from a hardware perspective (go to Crucial.com for a scanner to tell you what you need), I would also recommend reinstalling Windows so you can start fresh.
Copy all the files you want to save to the D: drive and insert your XP install disk. Reboot and follow the prompts (be sure to reformat the C: drive and don't use the "quick" option) and you will be amazed how much better it runs. Of course, you will have to reinstall any programs you use and any Windows updates you have made.
Good luck."
