banshee custom rear end/not the part where the seat and plastics is on? I own a 2005 banshee and I just saw this banshee which is like mine but the rear end is longer I was wondering why that is and what I have to do to do that. The part im talking about is the whole rear axle and tire section and bar. Im not too familiar but if u can help me thanks

Branden C replied: "a longer swing arm"

Chuck Josa replied: "You are either talking about an extended swing-arm or a widened rear axle. The extended swing-arm helps you to keep the front of the quad down and not wheelie so easy. If its a widened axle, it make the quads foot print alittle bigger, which means its more stable (when you take jumps)."

would it be cheaper buy a used yamaha banshee or build one frome new and used parts from ebay? is there any great places to find used banshees that need work for cheap? maybe other sports quads... any suggestions would be helpfull...

oklatom replied: "Yes, Oh, you don't like that answer? Okay then, No. Impossible to answer. What is your time worth?"

swrong replied: "It would be quite a bit cheaper to buy a used one and add the mods you want that didn't come with it, it gets quite pricey to build your own. Check on eBay for used Banshees, there's lots of them, I've seen some decent prices there. Check out Craigslist and local newspapers. Best of luck and have fun!"

How much does it cost to rebuild the top end on a yamaha banshee? Just a ballpark estimate parts and labor.

Tom B replied: "$800"

rhand182 replied: "I don't lnow where Tom B got his figures from. But my buddy had his top end rebuilt recently for under 400$ by a good local shop. 800$ would be more inline with a 4 stroke v-twin. Anything 2 stroke tends to be very cheap to rebuild due to there simplicity they just need to be rebuilt a lot more."

Misty L replied: "Depends on where you go and if you can do any of it yourself. We had the whole thing down for under $300"

What movie has the song Banshee Beat in it by Animal Collective? It's off the album Feels.? The part I recognise from a movie is the instrumental part. I'm pretty sure it's from an indie movie but I have no idea which one. Any hints or a definitive answer would be helpful. Thanks!

breed1229 replied: "search the web, or Yamaha forums. You'll find it. also that is a fast machine."

guardrailjim replied: "http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx A service manual would be more beneficial. Torque specs, clutch disk installation, piston ring end gap"

anyone have a Banshee, or a Banshee experience they would like to share? We are American, I think we may have one. My Mother has a story about it. I met some people from Ireland on the train, and they seemed very sincere in saying, it's pretty common out in Ireland, and a part of their culture.

mel replied: "i don't have one, but my best friend's cousin said that she did. i don't know if that's true or not. she only heard it, never saw it. apparently they come to those with musical talent or something. i think that's what she said. anywho, she could sing. she wasn't really afraid of the banshee it just made her jump every now and then. again though, these are just stories that i heard."

Terry replied: "THE bansnee (from ban [beall], a woman, and shee [sidhej. a fairy) is an attendant fairy that follows the old families... and none but them, and wails before a death. Many ha\-e seen her as she goes wailing and clapping her hands. The keen [caoine], the fulteral cry of the peasantry, is said to be an imitation of her cry. When more than one banshee is present. and they wail and sing in chorus, it is for the death of some holy or great one. An omen that sometimes accompanies the banshee is the coach-a-bower [cozste-odhar] immense black coach, mounted by a coffin, and drawn by headless horses driven by a Dullahan. It will go rumblin to your door and if you open it, according to Croker, a basin of blood will be thrown in your face. You'll see above that the Banshee are only about for the Old Families. However, there are those who may have brought some cross the seas and oceans."
