What are some good-paying mass communications jobs? I'm graduating next December and looking for an internship. I wanted to go into journalism, but I had a change of heart at the last minute. I want to stick with my major, but not sure where to look.

I was an education major, but hated student teaching. So, I switched to Communications. What jobs are there? I DO NOT WANT TO TEACH! however, I do not know what jobs I can get with a bachelors of arts in communications with a focus in interpersonal communication. Please Help! thanks:)
thriceforme311 replied: "You can do things with public relations or even marketing and human resources."
bailey michelle<3 replied: "I did the exact same thing, except I switched to English Writing with a minor in Accounting (for the business side).
I plan on going into publishing, preferably book. You could probably do marketing or PR or something for a publishing firm, if you'd like that."
aichausa replied: "If you're good with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc., you could combine marketing/PR with the internet. It's a hot and growing field right now. More than enough positions available all over the globe. It's official title is internet marketing or ecommerce marketing, which is slightly different.
Get your minor in internet marketing. There's an online program that features this very major by a school called Rasmussen University."
What good jobs can I get after studying communications? i recently changed my major from business admin to communications -media studies to be exact, but i don't know what jobs are really out there for this field. I would like to work for a television company. what are my options?
MsKnowItAll replied: "I love your style.
TV, radio, newspapers, Media, etc.
Good Luck"
heather h replied: "pretty much anything that involves communicating
tv host, public speaker, brochure making ( for a company to communicate promotions and etc ),"
What jobs can one get with a coporate communications major? I plan on majoring in corporate communications with a leisure &sports management/ parks, recreation and tourism management minor. Does this open up high paying job opportunities? What jobs can one get with this major.
TJ replied: "I think this would open up higher paying jobs, but keep in mind you must also have extra curricular things other than the education majors."
What types of jobs can you get with a associates degree in communications? Im thinking about getting a Associates degree in communications but I want to know te types of jobs that I can get before I start school
LOUIZIANABOYZ replied: "News Industry... Journalism jobs... Almost anything with electronics and/or media... Especially if he businesses are desperate..."
ryanbarker8 replied: "Taco bell manager, Pizza hut manager.... Probably should try to get a bachelor's degree."
MavistheMaven replied: "Associates degrees get very little respect in the work world, unless they train you for a trade such as auto mechanics or nursing. An associates in communications doesn't lead to any specific job.

What Kind of Jobs Can I Get With a BA in Communications? Please help! I got the kids raised and decided to get a life and pursue a career. LoL! I will graduate and have my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts next Spring. I am really feeling a lot of pressure to pick a direction to go ~ Communications seems to be the best fit for me; I'm just concerned as to what kind of job I can get after I get the degree. I want a career when I graduate; not a job.
Atom replied: "Public Relations, presentation and speaking, design, even mass media like TV, Radio and News, event planner, marketing stuff.
In my opinion, I would try to get a bunch of internships while you're in. I would take Design too. Almost all the jobs want some sort of design experience. Even if you're doing something like News writing they want a jack of all trades. It's a very versatile degree.
Be careful though, you want to research the jobs that are out there and then take the classes that they are looking for. With the economy right now, Communications degrees aren't so hot, so you have to be careful what you choose while you're in. Goodluck."
Why can't I find any entry level jobs in journalism, public relations or communications? It has been 6 years since I graduated from college with a Bachelors Degree in English. I want to enter a career in PR, communications or journalism. All the job ads always say 2-5 years experience required. How am I supposed to get the experience if nobody hires me entry level? I have applied to numerous jobs in these areas and haven't gotten an interview to this day. Is a degree in English too broad/not specific enough to enter these areas? Can I even get into these areas with a Bachelors in English alone? Or will I need to get a Masters Degree in communications or PR to get in? Why are these areas so competitive and how do you get entry level positions in these areas?
estmirabilis replied: "you will probably need an internship. obviously, this isn't ideal because they usually pay little to nothing but it will provide you with the experience you need to get your foot in the door for building a future in PR.
once they see that you have worked on a communications project or PR campaign, etc. they will know that you have some working knowledge of the industry. having the educational background isn't as important anymore. i know a PR rep that worked for years as an admin assistant and now she handles most midsize accounts for her firm.
don't give up though. keep applying and i wish you luck :-)"
Apeke replied: "My dear,
Don't worry, not all the jobs require experience before you start
visit
enter the query "journalism+ entry level jobs" and specify your city and state
You will see a couple of options, infact I scrolled through a couple, and they require you to have a Bachelors degree in English with you already have.
Don't give up, you are on the right path my dear
Just add determination to persistence and very soon, you will land a good job
Thank you"
Simi G replied: "In addition to applying directly to companies offering jobs, you should try applying for jobs posted at major job websites like Careerbuilder, Yahoo! Hotjobs, Craigslist, Monster and post your resume on these job boards.Websites like Indeed and Simply Hired allow you to search details of jobs posted on all major job boards, newspapers, associations and online classifieds. What are the highest paid jobs with a communications major? Just curious if anyone knows.
branddxb replied: "my guess would be advertising. although events, PR, also pay well."
