Such as looking at a pretty flower or seeing a nice sunset, staring up at the stars. I go for the simple things. I don't need extravagance. I don't need expensive things. Yo Momma is SOOO Fat! replied: "I don't think that extravagant is the most correct word to use here, but I get what you're saying. I don't drink anymore because alcohol has so many ill side effects compared to other drugs, but back when I DID drink, I never really did anything crazy. Just talked a lot of politics, laughed a lot, and became very mellow."

My mullet is sexy replied: "You're an idiot"

midnightmoon62 replied: "We were having a girls day in and we were all drunk and passed out by 6p. We played truth or dare and my dare was to answer the door for the pizza delivery topless and ask the deliverer for their phone number. I chased the poor kid down the driveway and was hanging out his car as he was leaving trying to get his number. I was projectile puking about 45 mins later. And that was only with about 3 beers. What is really a point of view if somebody is extravagant to spend luxury things? Would it be a psychological or its a part theoritical behavior of a person.

valley_storm replied: "It's psychological. If they had a restrictive childhood in which there spending was always limited it could be a reaction to this. OR on the other hand it could be that the parents showed love by giving extravagant gifts hence they know no other way to love or to spoil themeselves. For an example.. if you were very poor as a child and there wasn't ever any food around when you have money later on in life you may always make your pantry extra full in compensation of a fear of starving or feelings of emptiness and poverty as a child. You don't need the extra food around but it makes the person feel better. So if you apply this to excessive spending - it's to fill a hole in this persons heart either put there by parenting or poverty. They aren't concious of this but this is why it makes them feel good."

What's a good word/phrase to describe someone who has an extravagant, colorful style of speaking? I don't know the word or the phrase to describe someone like this. Any help appreciated. More specifically, someone who talks in big, fancy, colorful sentences. Someone who doesn't use basic language. In other words, if you know the book Jane Eyre, it's written in a very fancy, flamboyant, extravagant language. What's a sentence or word that can describe a person like this.

doe♥ replied: "the word you are looking for is spiel. it means to talk extravagantly. alternately, you might use ''sing-song'' as it means to talk in a musical voice. here is the information for spiel: SPIEL 1. a usually high-flown talk or speech, esp. for the purpose of luring people to a movie, a sale, etc.; pitch. –verb (used without object) 2. to speak extravagantly. [Origin: 1890–95; (n.) < G Spiel or Yiddish shpil play, game; (v.) < G spielen or Yiddish shpiln to play, gamble] edit: as someone mentioned, verbose means to be long-winded. it is used as a negative term."

Colton L replied: "wide expression"

socialjusticeforall replied: "Flamboyant is usually a visual word, but could describe this. Charismatic might fit or perhaps bombastic. Verbose describes wordiness, but is usually a negative. Lyrical is when someone's words have almost a musical quality."

my 2 cents replied: "verbose flamboyantly verbose Edit: ooops, I just saw that "social" already said that. But I still rather like it, though. :)"

Skiərkæ replied: "You could use adjective "florid" -often used to describe books/art that are over elaborate and or showy as in "he has a very florid turn of phrase" (he speaks in an elaborate and showy way)"
