facebook virus????????????????????????? My friend's facebook account was hacked and he posted a message on my wall saying to go to a website because my pictures were on it. Does anyone else know about this virus? Can you tell me more about it? person with the most info gets 10 pts

maddartist93 replied: "I have also heard of this virus. Heres the link on the information of the virus; "

Hollow from Beyond replied: "Facebook hasn't got a virus.... it starts with https while logging in which means a perfectly stable and a secure connection to the facebook server. You friend perhaps already had a virus in his system so it hacked it right in!"

wellslogan replied: "This is what happens. A friend of yours on Facebook gets a message like this, and they go to the site. It asks them sign up for an account, and has them enter a password, their name, their email, and the friend who sent the message to them. They do so, and most likely use the same email and password they use for their Facebook account. The site then tries to use the email and password your friend put in to access your friend's Facebook account. Then, once they have access, they are able to send YOU the message that got your friend. If you put in your email address, a password, and all the other stuff, they might be able to access your Facebook account. You do not want this. Instead, merely delete the message, and tell your friend to change their password, and in the worst case scenario, change their email address as well, especially if he uses the same password for facebook and his email. Hope this helps."

I got the 'facebook virus' and deactivated my account temporarily and dumped the old computer. Will this work? I got the facebook virus because I'm an idiot. I got it on a PC that later turned to a zombie. A computer expert came in and cleaned the laptop and everything on it, at all. On my Mac, I deactivated my facebook for 2 or 3 weeks. I'm afraid to reactivate it in case the virus is still there but idk. Can anyone help?

funnytim replied: "If the computer expert has done his job well and completely cleaned the computer(s), then you are good to go. In addition, if you want to make sure Please run a anti-malware scan using any antivirus programs you may have, in addition to . If it finds any infections, delete them all. If it comes up clean then everything should be OK. You can go ahead and reactivate your account. If you still have problems / not sure, check out the link below. You will get the help you need to resolve this issue, if this post can't help you. Good luck ;)"

Have u heard of a facebook virus that automatically downloads a file? I keep getting this download while on facebook, it's named 'pop' and is supposed to be a mp3 sound file but the length is 00:00:00. a friend told me it's a virus, but he didn't know what kind. I deleted all the files, and am running my windows defender virus scan. Is this a known virus? Do you know anything about it? Is there anything else I need to do to get rid of it? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks, ~Jess

chris_eoe replied: "It is possible it may be a virus. Try getting an anti-virus program that scans your internet connections (like Kaspersky, but the license key is always the problem) mp3 files with length 00:00:00 is quite suspicious. Don't open it. As for getting rid of it, I don't know yet."

vC15 replied: "There's some new website that was just launched called ifeem.com. It's a optmized search engine which can help you find any Mp3 file, lyrics to any song, and the latest music videos all on one site. You can either listen to the mp3 files or download it directly form the site. It's a very convenient website when you are looking to download mp3 files without the need of a third party application. Hope it helps you out ifeem.com I found out about this website and noticed its better than searching through google for Mp3 files or even videos. Very user-friendly as well."

Facebook virus through a link in a message sent from a friend? I think I received a virus through facebook today via message in my inbox. I ran a virus scan and everything was fine, and thus far nothing is wrong with my computer. I'm just not sure if it's one of those creepy viruses that screws up your facebook profile or sends automatic messages to random friends...or something worse! Does anyone know how to be sure there's nothing wrong with my facebook or computer?? Has anyone heard of any new viruses running through facebook??

~*50ftb4llfantasy*~ replied: "I heard about it. My mom told me and my family not to get on it because it could give ur computer a viruse and wipe out everything and cost hundreds of $$ to fix. I'm not sure how to see if ur computers ok or not. Hopefully I don't get it!!!! I'd be P.O!!"

How do i get rid of this facebook virus?? I have a virus on my facebook where i continuisly post on peoples walls something about ringtones. And it wont stop!

Mr. Franken replied: "Run a virus scanner on your computer. If that doesn't help you might need to reformat."

Michael Z replied: "Change your facebook password."

g33k replied: "Change your password. You accidentally got into a fake Facebook website and they got your password. ALWAYS make sure it's facebook.com when typing in your password."

Sarah B replied: "It's called your account being hacked. Change your password. Someone is logging in to your account and using it. In the future be careful when you see the facebook login page. Make sure it IS facebook.com That could be how they got your password."

zoot332 replied: "As one poster partially mentioned, check for recenly added programs in the control panel and remove them try Cnet.com to get Spybot and Windows Defender downloaded, update both and run them in normal boot mode you use every day then run them in safe mode as well."

Jack J replied: "I Don't Have A Clue."

What exactly is the "Facebook Virus" and how bad is it? Because my computer is really slow and we just fixed it because it had a REALLY BAD virus....so I just wanted to know if its the "Facebook Virus" and if not...what happens when you do get the virus?

" ? " replied: "If you've received a message like that through Facebook or MySpace, you may have been exposed to the "Koobface" virus. "Koobface" comes through an e-mail sent by one of your social networking site friends inviting you to scope out a video. Once the URL is clicked, "Koobface" prompts you to update your Flash player before the video can be displayed. Therein lies the virus, cloaked in a "flash_player.exe" file. According to the Kaspersky Lab, an antivirus organization working closely with Facebook, "the worms transform victim machines into zombie computers to form botnets.""

The how do you get the facebook virus and how can you prevent it? ok so the tech guy at my school sent out an email that we all needed to stay off facebook because there were like 20 diferent viruses going around on it through different ways. 3 of my friends have gotten it. any way my question is how exactly do you get it? do you have to add certian applications or do you just go on? i really dont want to get it so any help is appreciated!

yorknoken replied: "The virus is spread by what is known as a drive-by download. Simply visiting an infected profile or message is all it takes for you to get infected. The best way to avoid it is, as your tech guy said, to stay off of the site. Also keep your antivirus and antispyware software up to date. A good free antivirus is AVG available for download from"
